Social media is changing rapidly, and everything is visible, but why it is happening remains invisible, and not many are interested in finding out.
Social is dead; media is the only thing left!
However, media does not necessarily help businesses. Nowadays, every business is more focused on getting more media on social than on getting more social. A social media manager spends more time creating content than being social with the customers and potential buyers.
Unless you socialize with the people for whom you create content, you are just a random person in an elevator who I might forget about after three days. Everyone is chasing engagement, but you need to run after brand engagement that makes people remember your business.
Secondly, we say, "Online communities are the future," but most communities fail because they are too focused on their own benefit. They do not allow people to come and share substance that is other than their own company.
I have been kicked out of 50+ communities that were almost dead, and still, they did not want me to share content.
If someone says online communities are the future, it does not mean a community with a dictatorship. Value the people within your community, making it a better place.
My prediction about the future of social media is that brands that focus on people will not survive. Those that focus on individuals will.
Everyone is creating for everyone, but who is creating for one?
